Carriage Houses of Johnson County is a beautiful garage condominium facility located on the east side of DeSoto Kansas. Developed by four retired Air Force veteran fighter pilots that had a vision to create a unique and fun community of people that wanted a place of their own to enjoy and use for various hobbies, work spaces, vehicles, and activities.  Work began in 2008. The first building of 22 garages opened, and new owners took possession I August of 2011.  Today the facility has grown to a large campus that includes 12 buildings (2 under construction), housing over 220 garages, over 12 acres.  Due to the extreme popularity, the developers acquired the land east of the facility, and are currently adding two additional buildings with over 30 more garages. These veterans are actively engaged in the community and work to promote it with continued popular events such as an annual Car/Air Show called The People’s Choice Show, now in it 8th year, and an annual BBQ Contest.  Additionally, they enhance the facility with unique features like an American Band Stand style stage, Pickle ball court, basketball goal, grassy areas, and more.  On occasion they open the facility up to the general public via Open Houses, to give people the opportunity to visit the great garage owners, and explore this sizable campus.  Garages at Carriage Houses have been a tremendous investment for its owners, as garage values have continued to climb over the last 10 years.  To purchase and own a garage, usually means having to wait, sometimes for months.  However, people will tell you it is worth the wait.
